Who we are
Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency is an executive agency sponsored by the Department for Transport and it is also a part of the Motoring Services Group. The DVLA is administered by the ministers, namely, Patrick McLoughlin MP, the Secretary of State for Transport; Robert Goodwill MP, the Minister of State; Claire Perry MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport; Andrew Jones MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport and Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, the parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport. The DVLA Customer Service is managed by Philip Rutnam, the Permanent Secretary and they are responsible for the records of more than 45million drivers and 38million vehicles.

What DVLA does
The DVLA maintains the registration of drivers and transportation in the Great Britain. Do you really need to be a registered driver? Do you have to register the ownership of your vehicles to the DVLA Customer Service? The answer to those questions are, of course, a big yes, because the DVLA Customer Service aims to improve safety on the road, to limit the vehicle related crimes, to support the environmental initiatives and to limit the tax evasion on the vehicles, so if a driver is registered and the vehicles are also registered, then it is a big help for the aim of the DVLA to be accomplished.

Contacting the DVLA
Drivers and individuals who would like to know more about the DVLA Customer Service, all you have to do is to read from their official website at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/driver-and-vehicle-licensing-agency and a contact form is provided on the website for your requests. For those who have general enquiries, they may contact the DVLA Customer Service at 0300 330 3000. If you would like to write to the DVLA, then you may post your mails at their office address at the Department for Transport, 33 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 4DR. Media enquiries are also entertained, so you may connect with them at 020 7944 3021.

Drivers must keep in mind
If you have sent enquiries, you will receive a response from the DVLA Customer Service within 20 working days. For those who are calling the helpline of the DVLA for media enquiries, be reminded that the Customer Care is open from Monday to Friday only at 8am to 7pm and for urgent media enquiries that is out of office hours, you may call 020 7944 4292, the media helpdesk will only entertain members of the media because there are different phone number for public enquiries.
